I have been searching for a natural moisturizer. I had no idea that anyone made a natural anti wrinkle cream. I just purchased Soignée Anti-Wrinkle Créme and can honestly say that it works great! It is made from all natural ingredients, which I list below. Wow! After using it for only 3 nights I can see a difference in the lines on my face. They are softer. My skin also looks and feels smoother. I am not sure how it measures up to Prevage, the age defying cream made by the makers of Botox, but I do know that Soignée Anti-Wrinkle Créme contains all natural ingredients. Prevage is only available through dermatologists, though it is not a drug. You can obtain Soignée online at Natural News.

On the March 25, 2010 episode of the Rachael Ray show they discussed the problem of people keeping their makeup too long and the dangers it may cause. The question we all want to know is how long can you keep makeup?
Makeup has a shelf life. The active ingredients break down after time. Because our beauty products come in contact with our skin bacteria they become a reservoir for bacteria and cause all sorts of problems. When the skin becomes contaminated by these products it can cause eye infections, skin infections, exacerbation of acne, cold sores, and even Herpes Simplex. Read the rest of this entry »

On ABC 30 News this morning one of their guests, Doris Day (not the famous actress), gave some great tips on moisturizing your skin, but suggested some moisturizing ingredients that may be toxic. I list both her moisturizing tips and suggested ingredients; and suggest some alternatives that explain how to moisturizer your skin naturally, including face, hands, feet, scalp,
Winter can dry your skin not only due to the cold, windy weather, but also from the dry heat indoors. Sun rays can damage the skin as well, even through the clouds. Moisturizing your skin is very important, especially your face, and especially at night.
You lose a lot of water at night. If you moisturize during the day be sure to use a richer moisturizer at night. Read the rest of this entry »

On The Dr. Oz Show, episode aired on January 7, 2010, Dr. Oz explained how to pop a pimple safely and shared a natural oil to use on your face.
If the pimple is beneath the level of the skin do not pop it. Never squeeze a pimple and never poke a pimple in the center with a needle. You need to lance it. First begin by cleaning around the pimple with soap and water and alcohol. Then sterilize a needle by using alcohol and, if you wish, with a flame such as a match or lighter. Then poke the pimple horizontally (from the side) not down in the middle. Then go upward and break the pimple from the center or other end and then rip it up. This is lancing.

In an earlier post on a review of the Maxiglide, I suggested using “Pantene Pro-V All Day Frizz Defense – Smooth Lisser” Leave-in Conditioner. Well, it has been a very difficult product to find lately. My daughter has just given up completely. I usually keep her supplied through a local retailer. Well, today I went to purchase us both some and found that they no longer carry it. They carried a similar item, but it just was not similar enough. I believe I was paying over $5 or $6 for a 10.2 oz. bottle. I did some research online and found ”Pantene Pro-V Split End Prevention, Leave-In Cream Moisture Protection” formerly known as: “Conditioner, Smoothing All-Day Frizz Defense Creme”. It sells for a great price, only $4.49 [no longer available]. If you order over $25 shipping is free. This is the best price I have ever seen! Check it out if you have split ends, dry, curly or frizzy hair.
UPDATE: As of today, January 3, 2009, using the above link, Pantene Pro-V leave-in conditioner is Buy 1, Get 1 at 50% off! That’s $6.74 for 2 bottles.

There is an amazing flat iron made just for people with curly, frizzy or kinky hair. It even has a steam feature. Most people with frizzy hair avoid steam, but it actually softens your hair when used with heat, especially those dry ends.
There is a way to straighten your hair without chemicals. Check out Maxiglide flat iron made by Maxius. Here you will find the product that I have been using for about 2 years. I would not do without one, so much, that I purchased a back up one just in case my other one ever dies. I am currently using the Maxiglide XP which is the 2″ model. Their latest models have a swivel cord to prevent tangling of the cord, though I really never had a problem with that on the older model. Read the rest of this entry »

Beauty is only skin deep, but the skin absorbs everything! What you place on your skin is absorbed into your bloodstream. Therefore, using a natural hair color will prevent your body from absorbing additional chemicals. Whether you are coloring your hair to hide gray or just for a change in color, I suggest that you try a natural brand.
Lucky Vitamins has great prices on natural brands. I use Herbatint Permanent Herbal Haircolour Gel which is an Italian brand. It is packed with nutrient rich vitamins and minerals and has no amnonia and no paraben*. If you wish to obtain 100% gray coverage use the colors that end with an “N” such as “2N”. Currently the price is $8.87 per box or $8.52 if you purchase 12 or more. Read the rest of this entry »

I heard that a lemon and sugar scrub helps fade age spots on your hands. I believe it will not remove age spots permanently, but it will fade them. I researched several different recipes and have come up with my own, all natural, body scrub recipe. It is easy to make and very inexpensive. Try it and let me know how it works for you.
Ingredients
1/2 cup sea salt or 1/2 cup of your favorite sugar
1 tablespoon of your favorite natural moisturizer, lotion or extra virgin olive oil (I like tea tree oil lotions)
Oil of 3 Vitamin E capsules
2 tablespoons lemon juice (see below if you are allergic to citrus) Read the rest of this entry »
